Coach LeAndre Gipson was born and raised in Shreveport, LA and is a 1999 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Coach was a four-year letterman varsity basketball player, starting for the team three of those four years, and earned all- district and all-city honors during his career at Booker T. Washington High School. Coach Gipson attended Southern Arkansas University on a full basketball scholarship, earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degree while in attendance at the University. He has coached for 11 years at the middle and high school levels, and was an assistant coach for Bossier High School Boys 2011 State Championship team. Coach Gipson is currently in his 2nd year as the Head Boys Basketball Coach of his Alma Mater, Booker T. Washington High School.
Coach Meza graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Health and Physical Education Certifying. He has taught physical education for 9 years in Caddo parish. He was assistant softball coach at Booker T. Washington from 2011-2013. He then became Head Coach in 2014 and is currently the head softball coach at Booker T. Washington. The Lady lions look forward to another strong season and hope to make the playoffs again in 2017!
Coach Brian Stewart, Sr. is originally from Shreveport, LA where he began his career with the Caddo Parish School Board in the year 2000 as a Security Coordinator and Assistant coach of the J.S. Clark Middle School Lady Tigers basketball team. During those first four years as an assistant coach, the basketball team won 2 City Championships in 2000 and 2002. In 2003, after the retirement of the Lady Tiger’s head basketball coach, Coach Stewart was offered the head coaching position and he took on that role with pride and honor being that he was a 1987 graduate of J.S. Clark Middle School. He also was an assistant coach for the J.S. Clark Middle School football team, serving as the Special Teams Coach. Prior to coaching, he served his country in the United States Army for a total of 17 years and has served a tour in Iraq in 2010.
Coach Stewart transitioned to Booker T. Washington High School in 2011, after J.S. Clark Middle School was transformed into an elementary school and Booker T. Washington was altered into a Middle and High School. Coach Stewart is entering his fifth year at Booker T. Washington High School, and during his tenure there, the Junior Lady Lions won back to back City Championships in the 2012-2013 and the 2013-2014 seasons. He has played a major role in the Middle School, Junior Varsity, and Varsity football programs, serving as the Head Coach and an Assistant Coach. Coach Stewart believes that every kid deserves a chance.
Coach Terence Winn graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1984. Coach Winn received his B.S. degree from Grambling State University in Business Management in 1988. He later received his Alternative Certification from LSUS. Coach Winn started his coaching career at J. S. Clark Middle School where he spent two years as the Boys Assistant Basketball Coach. He later transferred to Booker T. Washington High School as the Quarterback Coach and the Assistant 9th grade Boys Basketball Coach for two years. Coach Winn spent four years as the Girls Assistant Coach, at Booker T. Washington, before becoming the Head Girls Coach where he has served for the last 18 years. Coach Winn has also served as the Assistant Football Coach for the last 18 years.
Erica Wynne is a 1990 graduate of Corsicana High School, in Corsicana, Texas. While in high school, she played volleyball, basketball, and ran track. She attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, on academic and track scholarships. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Health Education. In her 12 years of teaching and coaching in Texas before relocating to Shreveport, she returned to Corsicana and coached volleyball, basketball, and track at Collins Middle School. Later, Erica became the assistant track and cross country coach for Duncanville High School and Lancaster High School, winning State Championship titles. In 2002, she was the head coach track coach for Pinkston High School where her team won District Championship titles and Regional finalist honors. She has been an educator with Caddo Parish Schools for 8 years and has been the Booker T. Washington High School’s head track coach since 2013. Her BTW track teams have earned District Runner - Up Champion titles, Regional and State finalist honors. When she is not coaching, Coach Wynne enjoys spending time with her family, relaxing, and working out.
